Ian Floods FL Fire Station, Apparatus

Sept. 29, 2022
Naples firefighters waded two blocks away to help a stranded resident.

The Naples Fire-Rescue Department posted this video of firefighters unloading a truck while surrounded in water from the storm surge.

Chief Pete DiMaria told Today Thursday morning that some crews hiked from the station in waist, sometimes chest deep water to help stranded people. They were brought back to the station where they remained Thursday morning.

The chief added that the flood water came up fast and rigs in the station were quickly flooded. Firefighters struggled to get apparatus running.
